The much-anticipated Korean drama Oh! My Guard (밑도 끝도 없이, 너다) premiered on October 24, 2026, and my screen has been filled with nothing but pure rom-com energy ever since! Directed by Yoon Jong Ho, the creative mind behind Lovely Runner, this new series brings laugh-out-loud comedy right from the first episode.
The story centers on heartthrob Eom Tae Bong (Jung Yong Hwa), a top romance actor with one major career problem. He absolutely refuses to film kissing scenes because of a deeply buried personal trauma. Then there's Oh Hae Ra (Hong Seung Hee), a shy young woman whose life turns upside down after an accident leaves her convinced she's Cha Hong Doo, the badass female bodyguard from her favorite TV show. Believing she's now a real-life bodyguard, she takes it upon herself to protect Tae Bong, turning his private life into one hilarious mess!
With its wild premise and hilarious misunderstandings, Oh! My Guard is already giving me all the rom-com vibes! If you love quirky characters and laugh-out-loud romance, don't miss out on this K-drama!
Oh! My Guard Episodes 1-2 Review: What I Loved

Episode 1 throws us straight into Tae Bong's crazy world of celebrity life. Watching Jung Yong Hwa play a romance actor who takes his role a little too seriously had me wheezing on the couch! The way he breaks down in tears on set is absolutely hilarious. But the real fun begins when Hae Ra steps into her fearless alter ego, Cha Hong Doo. Hong Seung Hee is so entertaining as she switches from a shy girl with a gentle personality to a kickass bodyguard who literally kicks Tae Bong to save his life. The whole thing is an absolute hoot!
In Episode 2, things get even funnier as Tae Bong desperately tries to escape his newly appointed, self-proclaimed bodyguard. My favorite part is when Hae Ra shows up at a jewelry brand event where Tae Bong is performing. When a group of schoolkids starts bullying her, the two end up running away together. Meanwhile, Hae Ra's father is desperately searching for his missing daughter! The episode also introduces Han Jeong Woo (Lee Yi Kyung) and top actress Song Na Ri (Park You Na), adding even more fun to the mix.
But beneath all of Hae Ra's hilarious superhero antics, there's a much more vulnerable side to her that makes me love her even more! Before her accident and her sudden transformation into her badass alter ego, Hae Ra lived a sheltered life under the weight of her family's expectations. She seems to have grown up feeling lonely and misunderstood, with a distant relationship with her parents. There's a sadness beneath all that fearless energy, and it makes her character so much more interesting.
Because of her condition, Hae Ra also relies on her devoted caretaker (Jo Jae Yoon), who stays close by to look after her. I love how patiently and gently he handles her unusual behavior, even when she gets carried away with her fantasies. His care for her adds a sweet emotional touch to the story. And just when you think she might finally stay put, Hae Ra is off again, rushing out to protect innocent people and save her celebrity crush!
After watching the first two episodes, I already have my verdict! Oh! My Guard is a complete delight for anyone looking for a stress-free rom-com packed with energy and laughs. The premise may feel familiar, but there's still something fresh and fun about it, if you get what I mean! I can definitely see the potential here, and I'm curious to see how the story develops. That said, I might just wait until all the episodes are out so I can binge-watch this one in peace!
