Love of Silom Review (Thai BL 2026): Should You Watch It?

I'm ready to admit that the hold UpPoom has over my life probably needs to be studied in a lab.
After what felt like actual decades of waiting for my favorite ghost-ship duo to reunite, they finally gave us Love of Silom ( รักแห่งสีลม) on April 24, 2026, and my soul has not recovered since. This series completely pulled me in, and I am obsessed with the levels of crime, family burden and overall top-notch romance scenes happening in the frenzied world of Moonlight Bar, Silom.
The story follows Wayu (Poom Phuripan), a former architecture student who leaves school to work as a host and pole dancer so he can pay off his mother's overwhelming debts while raising his adorable young nephew, Singto. My heart broke for him almost instantly. Then there's Krit (Up Poompat), a reserved and dutiful police officer who lives under the strict expectations of his traditional Thai-Chinese family, who openly disapprove of same-sex relationships.
Everything begins when an altercation at a nightclub unexpectedly brings Wayu and Krit together. From the moment they meet, their slow-burn chemistry is impossible to ignore. I need you to stop whatever you're doing and watch this series right now because it's incredibly hot, the stakes are surprisingly high, and the emotional payoff completely wrecked me, in the best possible way.

Love of Silom Episodes 1-5 Review: Into the Neon Madness

The first episode set my expectations incredibly high, and it absolutely delivered. Episode 1 gave me a heartbreaking look at Wayu's exhausting reality as he balanced working nights as a host with spending his days caring for little Singto. I wanted to reach through my screen and give him the biggest hug. The first meeting between our two leads was pure cinematic gold, and I was completely hooked from that moment.
By Episodes 2 and 3, it felt like the universe was determined to keep bringing them together. As Krit investigates a series of local cases, he keeps crossing paths with Wayu, and somehow the local police station becomes my favorite accidental dating spot.
By the time I reached Episodes 4 and 5, my heart could barely handle the tension. Watching Wayu slowly fall for Krit's quiet kindness while Krit struggled to put his feelings into words made the slow-burn romance even more satisfying. After a terrifying encounter with one of Wayu's clients, Krit's dramatic rescue leads to an unforgettable stolen kiss in the dark that had me screaming into my pillow. I also love how the series balances romance, family drama, and police investigations without losing its emotional warmth. It never feels like one storyline overshadows the others, and that balance makes the emotional moments hit even harder.

Love of Silom Episodes 6-9: Screams and Sighs

I think the most remarkable thing about this show is how mature the storytelling feels. Poom delivers an incredible performance as Wayu. He's so calm, emotionally restrained, and has such a powerful presence that I wanted to protect him the entire time. The moments when his walls finally begin to come down and he allows himself to be vulnerable are some of the most rewarding scenes in the series. Since he's usually so guarded around Krit, every emotional breakthrough feels well earned.
I also loved the home life scenes with little Singto (Leica Nonnarat Weeraratsuphakul). Those scenes were pure serotonin, and watching Krit slowly become an accidental co-parent was one of my favorite parts of the show. The production quality also exceeded my expectations. The pole dancing performances at Moonlight Bar were beautifully choreographed and showcased incredible athleticism, making every performance feel exciting to watch.
That said, I did notice a few issues with the middle portion of the series. At times, the pacing felt a little uneven. Krit's toxic ex-boyfriend suddenly appears, and it felt like he was introduced mainly to create unnecessary jealousy in an already emotionally complicated story. I also wasn't a fan of Krit's attitude toward Wayu's job as a host in Episodes 6 and 7. There were several moments when I wanted to reach through the screen and shake some sense into him.
I also found myself wishing the show spent a little more time letting certain moments breathe instead of jumping so quickly between the police investigation and the slice-of-life family scenes. It's only a minor complaint, but I think the emotional moments would have landed even harder with slightly smoother transitions.
Then Episode 8 came along, and all hell broke loose. Just when Krit and Wayu finally seem to be settling into their relationship, the universe throws another obstacle in their way. Pitak (Tom Phollawat Manuprasert), Krit's deeply traditional and conservative father, discovers what's been going on, and my anxiety immediately shot through the roof.
Episode 9 completely broke me. Watching Wayu cry was heartbreaking, but what hurt even more was seeing him respect Krit's decision and quietly walk away with a broken heart. Then he returns to an empty condo, chain-smokes in the bathtub, and realizes he pushed away the person who had made that place feel like home. I honestly wanted to cry right along with him. Thank goodness for his best friend Rose (Gam Yanissa), who never leaves his side and does everything she can to support him during their time apart.

Love of Silom Ending Explained: My Final Verdict

I couldn't have been more anxious throughout Episodes 10 and 11 as Krit's conservative father discovers the truth about his relationship with Wayu, putting Krit's career and future at risk. By the time I reached Episode 12, I was hoping and praying for an ending that would do these characters justice, and thankfully, that's exactly what I got.
After surviving a near-death experience during a dangerous nightclub investigation, everything leads to one final emotional showdown. Episode 12 delivers the payoff I had been waiting for all season. Krit finally finds the courage to stand up to Pitak and declares that his happiness and his love for Wayu matter more than outdated family expectations. Even his mother, Pimjit, chooses to stand by her son, and I couldn't help but cry tears of joy.
I'm still recovering from how deeply this finale affected me. It beautifully shows that the family you're born into isn't always the family that stands by you. Sometimes, the family you choose and fight for is the one that truly supports you when it matters most.
Love of Silom is easily one of my Top 10 BL dramas of the year and one of my favorite Thai BL series of 2026.
