Connecting to You Episodes 1-6 Review (Taiwanese BL)

Since its official release on August 14, 2026, Connecting to You ( 整個世界，只有你連上了我) has been the subject of so many of my group-chat conversations! This Taiwanese BL series follows the enigmatic Lin Chia Kai (Bruce Chiu), who has an unusual ability: he can see invisible, colored threads connecting people. Red represents romance, green represents family, yellow means deep friendship, and blue signals hostility.
While the people around him are surrounded by these webs of connections, Chia Kai has no threads of his own. He lives with the constant feeling that he is completely isolated from everyone around him. That changes when he literally runs into police officer Wu Ta Wei (Liu Yu Ren). Suddenly, a brand-new silver-gray thread appears between them.
Fearing that he might lose his connection to humanity altogether, Chia Kai takes an internship at the police precinct, where he helps Ta Wei investigate missing-person cases using his ability to see and follow these mysterious threads.
If you're looking for a soft urban fantasy with a workplace romance, this Taiwanese BL has it all! It has the heartwarming charm of Flower Boy (Thai BL) mixed with the supernatural magic of Cherry Magic (Japanese BL), and I'm already completely invested in seeing where this strange connection between Chia Kai and Ta Wei leads.
Connecting to You Episodes 1-6 Review: What I Loved
The first six episodes move at a brisk pace without ever feeling too rushed. Episode 1 introduces us to Chia Kai's lonely life and the stunning CGI used to bring the threads of fate to life. His first encounter with Ta Wei happens during a rescue operation on a rooftop. The two accidentally bump into each other, and that's when this strange silver thread suddenly appears between them.
Their partnership at the precinct really begins to take shape in Episodes 2 and 3. Chia Kai's ability to follow threads to find lost items and missing people adds a fun investigative element to the story. By Episode 4, that old silver thread has turned bright yellow, making it clear that the two have become genuine friends. And honestly, the chemistry between Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu Ren is impossible to miss. Their eye contact alone creates so many sparks!
The romantic tension really starts to heat up in Episodes 5 and 6. The yellow thread begins to show warm red hues, hinting that their friendship might be turning into something more. It creates such a cute slow-burn feeling between them. Ta Wei may seem like a strict and intimidating police officer on the outside, but the moment Chia Kai needs a little encouragement, his softer and more caring side comes out. Those little moments are exactly what make their growing relationship so much fun to watch.
Connecting to You: A Few Things That Fell Short
The series is at its weakest when it moves away from the main couple. Some of the comedic scenes with Chia Kai's roommate, Chiang Chao Nan (Lin Da Her), feel a little out of place and take away from the soft, cozy atmosphere I love about the drama. Some of the precinct cases also move too quickly, especially when it comes to police procedures. The speedy resolutions sometimes require you to suspend your disbelief a little.
I also had one small concern about Ta Wei at the beginning. I worried he might turn into that stereotypical closed-off, grumpy male lead we see so often in procedural romances, which can get predictable pretty quickly. Luckily, Liu Yu Ren brings enough warmth and nuance to the character to keep him from falling into that cliché. Ta Wei may look intimidating, but there is a genuinely caring side to him that comes out whenever Chia Kai needs him.
Despite these minor issues, the main characters are strong enough to carry the series. Bruce Chiu makes Chia Kai soft yet captivating, while Liu Yu Ren gives Ta Wei a grounded and protective presence. Together, they are easily the heart of the drama.
Connecting to You Review: My Verdict After Episode 6
The first six episodes create an irresistible mix of supernatural fantasy, romance, mystery, and genuine warmth. I love how the changing thread reflects the growing relationship between Chia Kai and Ta Wei. What started as a strange silver thread has slowly turned into something much more meaningful.
Now that the thread is beginning to shift toward red, it feels like their relationship is heading toward something deeper. The big question is whether they will follow what the thread tells them or choose to follow their own feelings.
After six episodes, I am completely invested in seeing where this connection takes them. The series has its little flaws, but the chemistry between the leads and the sweetness of their relationship make it very easy for me to keep watching!

The production company behind The Prosecutor's Proposal and Ball Boy Tactics took a bold and risqué approach, opening the entire series with a fantasy sequence full of surprises. I genuinely had no idea what was about to happen! The show doesn't waste much time getting into the messy, hormonal side of teenage romance, and the raw sexual tension is immediately there. You can feel it from the very beginning, and honestly, I was here for it. Then Kwon Yi Hyeon brings the heat in Episode 2. Watching In Ho lose his cool the second Eun Ho smiles at the new transfer student made me so giddy. The chemistry between Eun Ho and In Ho feels natural and cozy. They really do seem like two people who have been together since childhood. What I love most is that I could instantly see In Ho's desperation from the get-go, while Eun Ho is still completely, and almost comically, unaware of what is happening right in front of him.
