A Bona Fide Killer Episodes 1 & 2 Review: Watch or Skip?

I am officially addicted! A Bona Fide Killer (유부녀 킬러) is a dark action-comedy that's everything I want in a K-drama. It premiered on July 31, 2026, and immediately pulled me in. The story begins in 2011 with an incredibly intense flashback in which Yoo Bo Na (Kong Hyo Jin) kills a young girl's abusive father on the spot. In the present day, Bo Na seems to be living her best life with her loving husband, Kwon Tae Seong (Jung Jun Won) , and their adorable three-year-old daughter, Yul.
I laughed out loud watching her struggle to return to work while her neighborhood mom friends could barely hide their envy. Then her extremely critical mother-in-law entered the picture, and I instantly felt stressed for her! Thankfully, her hilarious sisters-in-law are always there to lighten the mood. Things become even crazier when Bo Na starts receiving creepy, anonymous letters containing photographs of her carrying out assassinations. Meanwhile, her husband, Kwon Tae Seong, is an investigative reporter trying to uncover the truth behind the death of a high-profile drug lord. He's convinced that what was ruled an accidental gas canister explosion was actually a carefully orchestrated murder.
If you enjoyed the family spy comedy Family: The Unbreakable Bond or the dark vigilante justice of Vincenzo, this drama should absolutely be on your watchlist. The first two episodes are packed with hilarious comedy, thrilling action, and gripping suspense that kept me completely hooked.

What I Absolutely Loved in Episodes 1 & 2

In Episode 1, I couldn't believe Yoo Bo Na took down a wealthy scumbag who walked free after serving only three years. Bo Na took matters into her own hands after the prosecution claimed his wife's death during pregnancy was nothing more than a tragic driving accident. She calmly perched atop a church steeple and took him out with a perfectly executed sniper shot. I loved Kong Hyo Jin in every scene and how effortlessly she switched between a stressed-out everyday mom and a chilling assassin.
Episode 2 turned up the heat even more. Detective Lee Dong Jin (Lee Sang Yi) uncovered a crucial clue on the rooftop: a bright Baby Shark sticker that belonged to Bo Na's daughter. I especially loved this part of the story because Lee Dong Jin and Kwon Tae Seong are best friends who constantly share details about their cases over drinks. The dramatic irony is brilliant because they share information with each other without realizing that the mastermind they're searching for might be sleeping in the next room.

Elite Cast and Outstanding Team Dynamics

I can't say enough about the incredible supporting cast because they bring so much life to every scene! Durumi Electronics' Sales Team 3 serves as the perfect cover for Bo Na's assassin team, and I loved watching their office dynamics. Led by Kim Bong Pal (Sung Dong Il) , the entire team is charismatic, sharp, and ridiculously fun. Each member has their own specialty, and their chemistry is fantastic from the very beginning.
Then there's the newest employee, Oh Hyun Nam (Ha Yul Ri) , who immediately grabbed my attention with her dark and mysterious aura. She specializes in creating deadly custom poisons, and guess what? It seems she's grown up to be the little girl Bo Na saved in 2011! Ha Yul Ri delivers a chillingly precise performance, and I'm already fascinated by the growing back-and-forth between her and Bo Na.

A Bona Fide Killer Episodes 1-2 Verdict

The climax of Episode 2 is even more intense as our lead is faced with an unimaginable dilemma in the final minutes. Up until now, Yoo Bo Na has managed to keep her secret life and her cozy family life completely separate, but that's no longer possible. The final moments of Episode 2 show how one split-second decision changes everything, delivering a powerful emotional payoff while revealing just how far Bo Na is willing to go to protect the people she loves. It's a heartbreaking cliffhanger that has definitely left me eager to see what happens next.
