The Ordinary Jackpot Episodes 1–2 Review: Watch or Skip?

I watched The Ordinary Jackpot (로또1등도 출근합니다) when it premiered on September 10, 2026, and I was hooked by its hilarious premise from the very beginning. If this is the kind of corporate satire you enjoy, this could easily become your next obsession.
Gong Eun-tae (Lee Joon-hyuk) is the sales team leader at Hongseong International, a burnt-out employee who finds himself stuck between demanding executives and passive-aggressive coworkers. His life turns upside down when he wins 1.3 billion won in the lottery. The money is enough to give him real financial security, but not so much that he can simply forget about it or walk away from everything. Still, it changes the way he sees his job. Instead of resigning, he walks back into the office the next morning without a care in the world and with a completely fresh attitude.
This workplace comedy is already right up there with cathartic corporate comedies like Reborn Rookie and Good Manager. This K-drama is a must-watch for anyone who has ever wanted to finally speak their mind to an annoying manager without worrying about getting fired.
The Ordinary Jackpot Episodes 1-2 Review: What I Loved
Episode 1 has a lot of great moments that feel painfully relatable to anyone who has worked in an office, before finally delivering that satisfying twist. I was already rooting for Eun-tae as he dragged himself to work every morning, clearly worn out by the daily routine and everything he had to put up with at the office. I was practically cheering for him to finally get his “ko-ching-chong” moment.
Then his winning numbers are confirmed, and it's comedic perfection. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the sheer panic, disbelief, and hysterical silent screaming in his apartment. Watching him realize that he had actually won was one of my favorite moments of the episode.
By Episode 2, the whole situation in Sales Team 5 turns completely upside down. With a huge amount of money sitting in his bank account, Eun-tae decides he no longer needs to play the office politics game. During a passive-aggressive meeting with the other competitive team leader, Jung Seon-hyuk (Oh Dae-hwan), Eun-tae stays completely calm, leaving the executives visibly taken aback.
The character dynamics are straight gold. Eun-tae was previously a senior assistant manager, while Assistant Manager Yang Joon-ho (Seo Hyeon-woo) is constantly giving off salty and jealous vibes. Ok Ja-yeon (Jin Hae-joo), meanwhile, adds her own sharp personality to the office mix.
I already love the sheer delight of watching a salaryman treat his job like a side quest. There is something overwhelmingly satisfying about seeing Eun-tae finally stop letting his job control his life.
Early Verdict After the First Two Episodes
At the very end of Episode 2, an unexpected alliance forms, and it immediately made me want more. Eun-tae refuses to work unpaid overtime on an important project after the executive makes yet another unreasonable demand. Instead, he simply leaves the building at the end of his regular workday.
Seon-hyuk is on the verge of exploding, while his coworkers stand around nervously watching everything happen. The ending makes one thing very clear: Eun-tae is no longer willing to sacrifice his peace of mind just to keep the company happy. His salary is basically pocket change to him now, and his job no longer has the power it once had over his life. He seems ready to work on his own terms and shake things up within the team.
The opening episodes are packed with laughs, fantastic comedic timing, and some seriously cathartic workplace revenge. At the same time, there is a surprisingly relatable feeling of being stuck in a life that no longer feels meaningful. I can't wait for the next few episodes to see what Eun-tae does next and just how much more trouble he can cause!
